Online and live training in using assessment and evaluation in play therapy! Learn how to use specific assessment tools and integrate them into the play therapy treatment plan!
Assessment and evaluation can provide unique insight into a child's experiences, strengths, and challenges. This insight can inform treatment planning, explore progress, and, overall, provide the play therapist and systemic stakeholders greater understanding of the child's experiences. This workshop will explore how to use both formal and informal assessment tools in play therapy and in parent consultation to enhance the process. Participants will learn specific assessment tools and how to integrate them into the play therapy treatment plan.

Learning Objectives:
- Participants will be able to discern which assessments may be appropriate to use with clients and their caregivers.
- Participants will identify at least 5 assessment tools to utilize to enhance the therapeutic process.
- Participants will use assessment results to create a treatment plan and evaluate progress.
- Participants will articulate assessment results to systemic stakeholders.
- Participants will describe how to use evaluation results from outside providers to enhance therapeutic process.
Speakers:
Dee C. Ray, Ph.D., LPC-S, NCC, RPT-S is co-owner of the counseling practice, EmpathyWell, in Highland Village, TX where she facilitates play therapy, training, consultation, and supervision. Dr. Ray is Regents Emerita Professor in the Counseling Program and Director Emerita of the Center for Play Therapy at the University of North Texas. Dr. Ray has published over 150 articles, chapters, and books in the field of play therapy, specializing in research specifically examining the process and effects of Child Centered Play Therapy. Dr. Ray is author of Playful Education: Using Play Therapy Strategies to Elevate Your Classroom, A Therapist’s Guide to Development: The Extraordinarily Normal Years, Advanced Play Therapy: Essential Conditions, Knowledge, and Skills for Child Practice, and co-author of Multicultural Play Therapy and Group Play Therapy. She is a founding board member and past president of the Association for Child and Adolescent Counseling, as well as past board chair of the Association for Play Therapy. She is an American Counseling Association Fellow, and two-time recipient of the Association for Play Therapy Outstanding Research Award, among many others.
Emily Angus, Ph.D., LPC-S, RPT-S is co-owner of the counseling practice, EmpathyWell, in Highland Village, TX. Dr. Angus serves clients of all ages using play therapy, activity therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, and talk therapy. In addition to direct service with individuals and families, Dr. Angus provides training, consultation, and supervision to professionals in the areas of play therapy, activity therapy, and assessment and evaluation. Dr. Angus also currently serves as the instructor and supervisor for doctoral students providing psychoeducational assessment at a university clinic, overseeing instruction and training. Dr. Angus has speciality training in the research and application of assessment and evaluation.
Fees, CEs, and Participation
This online and live training is only $100 per participant. This fee gets you 3 Non-Contact CE hours. EmpathyWell, PLLC is an Approved APT Provider: 22-674. Participants must be present in order to receive the CE credits and full completion of the course.

Registration is final and a refund will not be processed. EmpathyWell reserves the right to cancel this web series in the event of unforeseen circumstances. If such occurs, EmpathyWell will attempt to notify registrants prior to the workshop and refund all registration, workshop, and fees. In all instances, the liability of EmpathyWell is limited to refunding such fees.
